Rising Star prospect Brady Ochoa became a professional boxer at just 16. He began training in Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA at the age of 5. He began a passion for MMA by watching his father Eddie (a US Marine) training and sparring in mixed martial arts gyms. It was the beginning of his inspiration for combat sports.
Brady grew up in his fathers boxing and sports performance gym. Since the time he was 7 he has participated in sports performance training, gymnastics, basketball academies, wrestling academies, and golf. Although his passion was always boxing and sports perfromance training. His father’s gym motto was “Training champions in life, one athlete at a time.” His father goal was to use sports and strength training for character development. “Boxing was a tool to instill character traits in my kids, traits such as, Courage. Discipline. Commitment. Fortitude both mental and physical. My goal was to teach them to work hard, overcome adversity and to live out their faith everyday.”
said his father, Eddie Ochoa.
His father who is a well respected amateur, MMA pro Team USA coach and business owner, strongly believes in Long Term Athlete Development.. The focus prior to that was his total athletic development and a focus on the mastering of good fundamentals such as footwork, proper punching technique, defense, IQ and GRIT. Competing and open sparring were NOT the priority. It was proper fundamentals and athletic development skills such as Grit, mental and physical toughness, balance, coordination, strength, speed, agility and power, total athlete development.
